HOW IT WORKS
1. Compete in Standing Vertical
After your standing reach is measured, you'll compete using a Vert Trainer calibrated specifically for you. Athletes in your age division will attempt the same vertical jump heights as the bell is gradually raised.
2. Compete in Max Vertical
Next, you'll move into Max Vertical using a running approach. The bell continues to move higher as you chase a PR and compete for the highest vert in your division and the overall event.
The competitive format is designed to help you jump your highest — with the energy of other athletes pushing you along the way.
3. Get your official results
Walk away knowing your Standing Vertical, Max Vertical, Vertical Jump Levels, age-division ranking, overall ranking, and whether you set a new PR.

Men and women will compete in 6 age divisions:
12–14 • 15–17 • 18–29 • 30–39 • 40–49 • 50+
Age divisions may be adjusted or combined based on participation.

Athletes will be assigned a competition session. Plan to arrive at least 45 minutes early to check in, have your standing reach measured, and warm up. You don't have to be at the event the entire day.

Can spectators come and watch? How much are tickets?
Yes. Spectators are free. Invite everyone you know!
How are age divisions determined?
Age divisions are based on your age as of November 14, 2026. Planned divisions for both men and women are 12–14, 15–17, 18–29, 30–39, 40–49, and 50+. Divisions may be adjusted based on participation.
Do I need to participate in both Standing Vertical and Max Vertical?
Athletes are encouraged to compete in both events, but results are ranked separately.
When will I receive my competition time and when should I arrive?
Competition times will be provided no later than 3 days before the event. Please arrive at least 45 minutes before your scheduled session to check in, have your standing reach measured, and warm up.
What type of shoes should I wear?
Wear the athletic shoes you normally jump best in. No cleats or footwear that could damage the courts. You must wear the same shoes for your standing reach measurement and both jump events.
Can I film my session?
Yes! Athletes and spectators may film from designated areas as long as they don't interfere with the competition.
Are there any prizes or awards?
Yes! Every athlete will find out their official Vertical Jump Levels and receive the wristbands for every level they earn. Athletes can also win their age division, set the top Standing or Max Vertical of the event, or earn entry into the 40" Vert Club with a verified 40"+ Max Vertical.
Every participant will also receive an official inaugural Vert Open T-shirt.
How will winners be determined?
Standing Vertical and Max Vertical are separate events. The highest successful jump in each age division wins. Tie-breaking procedures will be explained before competition begins.
Do I need to stay for the entire event?
No. You only need to be there for your assigned competition session. You're welcome to stay and watch or return for the awards ceremony at approximately 4:30 pm.
You do not need to be present to win. Vertical Jump Level bands and age-division medals must be picked up at the event. Overall Champion awards can be shipped.
What is the cancellation / refund policy?
Registrations completed on or before September 30 may be cancelled for a full refund within 14 days of purchase. Beginning October 1, all registrations are final and non-refundable. After the applicable refund period, registrations may be transferred to another athlete through October 31.
